Partnership

The APEX Partnership Award is given annually to a member of the federal executive cadre through a partnership arrangement with the National Bank - Financial Group.

The individual chosen may have a proven track record (either over a number of years or through the course of one major project) of having actively engaged in, promoted and enabled partnership initiatives with other departments, other orders of government and/or other sectors in a manner that has resulted in enhanced or more efficient services.

Alternatively, the candidate may have played a catalytic role with other departments, other orders of government and/or other sectors which resulted in positive change to public policy and its implementation.

The APEX selection committee focuses on candidates who have reached beyond their basic job description to embrace partnerships with individuals or organizations to achieve the policy and service objectives of their organization. This will usually mean that new ground has been broken, whether creating partnerships where none existed before, making partners out of previous adversaries, or creating and managing complex partnership arrangements. The “partnership approach” demonstrated by the candidate may be a characteristic of the person’s entire career or brought into play in one major project.

Executive nominees personify the values of APEX as outlined in its Statement of Principles and provide an example for other members of the executive cadre.
