- Symposium 2010 -

Performance: Leadership matters!

June 1st and 2nd, 2010 - National Arts Centre
Ottawa, Ontario

*****

Whether defining visions, leading teams, building bridges across cultures and generations or creating a client-friendly and responsive environment - leaders matter.  This year, the APEX Symposium will focus on organizational performance, and the importance of leadership in helping organizations reach and meet their goals. We'll explore the world of high performance organizations, the impact of leadership on their results, and how Public Service Executives measure up (and we do!)

Deputy Ministers Cassie Doyle (Natural Resources Canada) and Daniel Watson (Western Economic Diversification Canada) will co-chair the Symposium and lead us through high energy and interactive discussions.

Here is an advance look at some of our special guests:
  • APEX is proud to welcome Wayne Wouters, Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet.
  • Fresh from his posting as Chief Executive Officer of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympics Winter Games, John Furlong, will share with us his passion to lead a major international event while the world is watching!
  • Amy Marlene Robichaud-Harpe, National Winner of the 2009 edition of the CBC's Canada's Next Great Prime Minister and Sean Lyons, Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the University of Guelph, will join us for a discussion on the challenges of leading 'intergenerational' teams.
  • Monique Collette, President, Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (rated one of the top places to work in the Government of Canada.)
We will be expecting you June 1-2, 2010, at the National Arts Centre, Ottawa for YOUR Symposium!
