speaking of APEX
Dear friends of APEX,
Another September has rolled around, and here at the APEX Secretariat we, like everyone else, are ramping up our activities to coincide with the beginning of the Fall work agenda.
However, over the Summer we have not been idle.
Preparatory work is underway for our Annual General Meeting which will be held on October 20th , from 1:30-3:30 (EDT) in the National Capital Region, and also accessible by video- and teleconference. I encourage members to participate in the discussion of your Association’s business and to take part in the election of new Board members. More detailed information will be available within the next couple of weeks.
We have added several features to our Website. I draw to your attention a new button on this page entitled "Professional Development”, which will give you access to a full description of our professional development program, with detailed information on courses and workshops, and registration information.
A Discussion Forum has been launched on the Members Only site, which offers a place where members can post questions and comments and carry on a dialogue with other members. We are hoping that this Forum will be increasingly useful to the membership as members explore issues which are important to our executive community. I am happy to see that it is already being used.
A final quick word on our June 2010 APEX Symposium. Thank you to the attendees who returned the evaluation form - we have combined the information from those responses with comments received in other forms, and are using the results to inform our work for the 2011 Symposium. Yes, work has already begun on next year’s event and we look forward to sharing early information with you soon.
On another note, many of you participated in our 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament which was held at Mont Cascades on August 26th. Aside from the pleasure of spending the day with colleagues, I am happy to report that we will be making a donation of over $1000 to the Bruce Dennison Bone Marrow Society.
This is just a quick message to welcome everyone back from what I hope was a recharging and restoration phase of the year. We anticipate a very busy Fall and will keep you informed as we go along.
As always, feel free to contact me or any member of the APEX team with questions, observations, and commentary.
