Celebrating our 25th Anniversary

Please join us as we celebrate our 25th anniversary
   during 2009.

In celebration of APEX's 25 years we have assembled a brief
record of its origins and evolution since 1984 and have
included a description of some of the major activities that APEX
has undertaken on behalf of Executives over the last 25 years.

Since being established in 1984, APEX had built and
sustained an excellent reputation as the recognized
voice for executives, and as a valuable resource for
   the Canadian public service.

Your support is greatly appreciated as we celebrate this historic milestone!

2009
CELEBRATING OUR ANNIVERSARY!

Rooted in Management Excellence…

The idea of APEX began in 1982 with some people in the management ranks of public service discussing the benefits of forming an association to help maintain and expand executive networks.  As support grew, a constitution was drawn up, and APEX was formally born in 1984.  That inaugural year there were about 700 members, and over time, APEX expanded its mandate beyond promoting professional enrichment, collegiality and fellowship.

Results in Management Excellence…

Today's APEX has more than 2500 members, and continues the proud tradition of promoting networks and collegiality among executives, as well as promoting excellence in the management of the public service.  Over the years, APEX has been instrumental in effectively advocating on behalf of executives, by using its channels of communication with key public service decision-makers, Ministers, and Parliamentarians to get action on executives' principal concerns, including on issues related to ethics and compensation.
